Namsay Choeling Resort

Located at the upper part of Paro valley, the Dzong  (fortress) was built by Tenzin Drukdra in 1649 at the behest of Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel to commemorate a victory over an invasion from Tibet. In the early 1954, the Dzong was razed down by the fire and today the renovation is still going on to bring glory. Nearby Drukgyal Dzong one can see the local temple of the people of Phangdo which contains an image of Tara as the main object of worship.
