Located very near to Paro town, the small three-storied Dungtse monastery stands at Jangsa village. The great Tibetan saint, Thangtong Gyalpo, built it after subduing an ogress in the 13th century.
This temple is unique in Bhutan as it’s paintings show the progressive stages of Tantric Buddhist philosophy as well as the most important deities and figures of the Drukpa Kagyu School.
